Our Needs

The School has funding from the DOE and the NYCHI for its Principal, teachers, and a Social Worker.  However, it does not have funding for FY 06 for staff experienced with the college access and admission, an enormously complex and labor intensive field.  Our community requires funding to offer adequate counseling to our vulnerable students with few outside resources.  We would like to fund a range of arts programming, a full complement of after-school tutoring, clubs, and more trips that our creative and energetic staff and students have devised.  Our staff would appreciate funding for the retreats they need to assess the School’s progress and plan for its future.  In order to fulfill our School’s design, we hope to find funding to bring our students to the world, and the world to our students, paying for student travel and internships.  Lastly, there are simple school supplies: wall maps, new books, and musical instruments.
